What is Weyfarers?

Weyfarers is the recreational arm of Weybridge Rowing Club. We are one of just a handful of recreational and touring rowing clubs in the UK, formed for and by people who think rowing should be FUN!

  • No time to train 8 days a week?
  • Love rowing, but want to have a life as well?
  • Never tried rowing, but want to have a go?

Then maybe YOU should try recreational rowing!!

Don't get us wrong - we don't just paddle around. We aim to improve our technique and get fit, just like our more competitive friends. But our horizons are wider.....

Never rowed before? No problem! We run learn to row courses in the Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Incident Reporting

The Club's Incident Reporting guidelines are now available on our Safety page. Make sure you read and remember them!

If you have an accident on the river where someone is injured or equipment damaged, you must report it to British Rowing. All incidents, even near misses, should be reported to our Safety Adviser, Nigel Dawes.

British Rowing Tour

Details of this year's tour in Scotland are now available. Details are available in MS Word or PDF format. The tour is now SOLD OUT!

 
 

Refresher Course

Not rowed for a while and afraid you've forgotten everything? Then take our Refresher Course over 4 Sundays in April (7th, 14th, 21st and 28th). The session on 14th April will include a capsize drill at Henley Leisure Centre. Email us to reserve a place. Cost is £40 or FREE to members paying a full year's subscription from 1st April.

 
 

Beginners Rowing Courses

The April course has finished and we are now taking bookings for the course which starts on 10th July. NEW - you can now apply online.

Capsize Drill

Well done to the 25 people who took part in the capsize dril at Cranmore School. Your certificates are in the Hut for you to collect.

  
 

Competency Training

Our training sessions got interrupted due to the bad weather, so we will start again once we are back on the river. Theory sessions will be held every Saturday at 10.30 before the outing, and our coaches will then take you through the practical skills you need. See our Competency page to find out what's involved, and read our Safety page for essential information which you will need for the test.

 
 

Sunday Lunch Time Socials

Sunday socials are back on! The next one will be on 5th May. Come and join your friends for some drinks and free nibbles (courtesy of Greg) and warm up after a chilly morning on the river!
